NME Contents Page Analysis

This magazine is more targeted at a male audience than a female audience. This can be seen by the colours and fonts used on the contents page as they are rather masculine.

NME’s uses three main colours in this contents page, these are red, black and white. The use of only using three colours prevents the reader from being overwhelmed with colour.

There is one main image on this contents page and this is of Astoria which is the main feature to this particular issue. This enables readers to focus their interests onto the main feature. Also, underneath the image of the Astoria is a brief description of what the full article will be about. There is one other smaller image on this contents page and this is an advertisement of subscribing to NME. This advert uses a different colour to the rest of the contents page.
There are between four and five different fonts on this contents page. This enlightens each piece of information individually because it has a different font to it. If the contents page was in completely one font it would look boring to the readers.

As the magazine is focused more on bands than individual artists there is a list to the left of the contents page that show a list of bands. Next to each band there is a number to signify what page you will find them on in the magazine. This makes it easy for the reader to find a specific band they are interested in reading about.
