Analysis of a CD cover

Queen – The Miracle

This CD covers audience would be for a younger audience, typically teenage rockers. We are able to see this by the way the band members are presented. This is done through the way they are dressed in a simple black top which makes it plain but effective. The bands hair is a wild combination of all four members’ hair which is all wild, like rockers. I also noticed that their faces go in order of how big their hair is. This makes it flow and blend together effectively. Also, you can see that their audience would be to rock fans because of their facial expressions, they all have a serious rock look upon their faces, and this makes them look like they mean business.

The main picture of this CD cover is of all the band members faces merged into one head. This image would symbolise that when the group sing together they would sound like one. It suggests that the band sound harmonious as their singing sounds like it’s a song that has always meant to be. The background to this image is of the sky from ‘heaven’ or outa space. There are clouds at the bottom of this image that then goes to dark sky at the top, this image would represent what you would see from heaven which links in with the title of the album ‘The Miracle’.
The title of this CD cover is in a dark red with a yellow outline around the outside of the text. This would make the title stand out of the picture because it is a contrast to the rest of the image. Using this colour makes it simple but looks very effective.
