ELLE Contents Page Analysis

The target audience of this magazine is middles class, white, females. The Prize of this magazine is usually around £3.70.

On this contents page there are two main colours that are used throughout, these are pink and black. Only using two colours throughout the contents page makes it look more professional and is not overwhelming with colour. As the target audience for the magazine is for females the colours throughout are very feminine, pink and black. Also, the features of make up on the contents relate well to this audience as this would be a great interest of theirs.

Also the numbers of pages on this contents page are in a larger font than the actual contents. This would highlight the number of the pages that each content is on. Below the numbers is the title of the content of that page these are in pink. Then following this pink font is a short sentence or two that sums up what is on these pages. There are about three different fonts used on this contents page. These keep the contents page looking more intriguing and give a more feminine appeal to it.

The contents page displays a wide variety of images on it. There are around twenty different images on this contents page. The main reason for this excessive amount of images on the contents page is because it is a fashion and beauty based magazine. One of the titles on the contents page is ‘beauty, health and fitness’ this would be rather significant to the target audience of this magazine as they would be very keen on making sure their looks are immaculate. On this contents page it also shows us a part that have things featured in every issue, this shows us that these are regular features to this magazine.

At the very top of this contents page is the magazines name. This is in the usual font for this magazine as it is an icon; readers would automatically recognise this to be ELLE magazine.
